A love for food and where it comes from led me to an internship working with a local farmers market after college. Getting to know the farmers and vendors and incorporating their stories into the bi-weekly newsletter was such a rewarding part of my time here. I redesigned the newsletter, bringing life into it with photography I took each week at the market. The community response was phenomenal and led to an increase in signups by the end of the season.
My lifelong yearning for Italy began in the summer of 2012. I called Siena home for the summer, ventured to Rome, Florence and Casiglione de Pesce on weekends. The sounds of Il Palio di Siena echoed through the streets as the neighboring contrade prepared to compete against one another in the most coveted 90 second horse race in the world.
